The Thomaston Historical Society’s ninth annual Home for the Holidays house tour and reception features a beautiful 125 year old Queen Anne style Victorian house located at 7 Hyler Street and built for Captain Edwin Smalley in 1890.
The weekend event begins on Friday, December 11th with a reservation only reception beginning at 5 P.M. This will include a wine reception, hors d’oeuvres, both live and silent auctions, live music and a house tour. The cost is $20 per person, $18 for members. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Frances at 354-6924 or by sending your check to Thomaston Historical Society, P.O. Box 384, Thomaston, ME 04861.
On Saturday tours begin at 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The silent auction continues and no reservations are needed. Tickets for Saturday will be available at the door for $10 per person, $8 each for members. The house will be decorated for Christmas in the style appropriate for 1890, the year in which the house was constructed.
